The Administrative Assistant 1 position with the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources at Raccoon Creek State Park offers a meaningful opportunity to support daily park operations. This role places you at the center of communication, recordkeeping, and visitor assistance within a busy and scenic environment. You will help ensure that important administrative tasks run smoothly and support the work of park staff. This position provides a chance to grow your skills while contributing to the success of one of Pennsylvania’s beautiful state parks.


This position supports the administrative functions that keep Raccoon Creek State Park operating smoothly, including purchasing, accounting, visitor assistance, and daily office activities. As an Administrative Assistant 1, you will perform the following duties:

  • Purchasing Support: Process purchasing documents, arrange bids, and coordinate delivery of park supplies
  • Fiscal Records: Update fiscal systems, reconcile ledgers, and maintain accurate accounting documentation
  • Visitor Services: Assist park visitors, manage reservations, process permits, and support public inquiries
  • Revenue Processing: Handle park revenue, prepare deposits, maintain logs, and reconcile financial statements
  • Office Coordination: Prepare correspondence, manage files, process mail, and support daily office functions
  • Staff Assistance: Coordinate schedules, train seasonal clerical staff, and support park managers with reports and documentation

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Shift and schedule may vary to meet the needs of a facility operating seven days per week. Employee works 37.5 hours across five days each week.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position. 
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Such training as may have been gained through graduation from a four year college or university or any equivalent combination of experience and training.
