Weekend Program Guidelines:
- Eligible participants must work 24 hours per weekend between Friday at 3:00 p.m. and Monday at 7:00 a.m., consisting of either two 12-hour shifts or three 8-hour shifts per weekend.
- Participants may utilize up to 96 hours of combined Paid Time Off (PTO) and Ill Time Off (ITO) on weekends each fiscal year, allowing for a maximum of eight weekend shifts off. PTO requests must be approved in advance by the department manager or director.
- Holiday scheduling and work requirements will follow the department's standard expectations for non-weekend staff.
- New hires and transfers entering the program after the start of the fiscal year will receive prorated PTO/ITO eligibility.
- Weekend Program participants are expected to fulfill their 24-hour weekend commitment. Additional weekday shifts do not offset required weekend hours and will be compensated at the employee's regular weekday rate.
- Overtime resulting from additional weekday or weekend shifts must be pre-approved by department leadership.
- Participants must be willing to work rotating schedules or designated off-shifts based on departmental needs.
Please note: Use of more than 96 total hours of PTO/ITO on weekends, more than 24 hours of unscheduled PTO/ITO, or failure to meet Weekend Program requirements may result in removal from the program.
