The Department of Biological Sciences is seeking Research Technician in the Kitzes Lab.
The Research Technician will assist with the design of hardware for acoustic and other automated field data collection, as well as the analysis of automated sensor data, particularly audio. Duties will include assisting with the design of automated biodiversity sampling hardware, preparation and deployment of acoustic recorders, management of audio data, analysis of audio data, and the writing of reports and papers.
Performs laboratory testing and some analysis on multiple types of specimen samples. Operates and properly sterilizes equipment and maintains inventory and assists with ordering.
Performs a variety of laboratory experiments and procedures. Oversees supply management. Operates and properly maintains equipment.
Must be able to sit, stand, and use a computer for an extended period of time. Must be able to ambulate across campus as needed. Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
