This position supports the daily operation of the Erie CCC by maintaining safety, order, and structure for reentrants. The role requires careful monitoring, clear communication, and consistent enforcement of rules and expectations. As a Corrections Community Center Monitor, you will perform the following duties:
- Safety Monitoring: Observe reentrant behavior and maintain security through logs, counts, and inspections
- Search Procedures: Conduct scheduled and unscheduled searches of reentrants, property, and living areas for contraband
- Orientation Support: Provide new reentrants with rule reviews, service information, room assignments, and housekeeping duties
- Testing Administration: Complete and document breathalyzer and urinalysis tests when reentrants return to the center
- Visitor Assistance: Give visitors information about center operations and respond to concerns with professionalism
- Record Control: Manage sign in and sign out registers for reentrants and visitors to ensure accurate tracking

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
- Community Corrections Centers are staffed by three work shifts that cover the facility 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, 365 days per year.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $41,999.00 (before taxes).

Additional Requirements:
- You must be willing and able to work in Erie, Erie County, Pennsylvania.
- You must have the ability to work different shifts or irregular scheduled hours.
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Preferred Qualifications (not required):
- Two (2) years of experience performing public safety or security work. (Examples of qualifying experience include but are not limited to public safety or security work involving protection of persons and/or property and maintaining required security through enforcement of rules, regulations, and laws; public safety or security work in a correctional setting, juvenile, or adult development/detention center, law enforcement entity, or military security experience)
- One (1) year of work experience providing direction/guidance to individuals. (Examples of qualifying work experience include but are not limited to performing as a lead worker or supervisor assigning and evaluating work tasks, providing informal counseling, or giving orders in the Military)
