This role supports the daily operations of the District Office by assisting callers, visitors, and staff. Your work helps create a dependable and efficient environment for transportation activities. As a Clerical Assistant 2, you will perform the following duties:

  • Telephone Support: Provide clear and polite responses to callers and direct them to the correct staff
  • Visitor Guidance: Assist visitors by directing them to proper areas in the building
  • Office Assistance: Complete typing, word processing, and copying tasks as needed
  • Mail Handling: Sort and distribute incoming mail and prepare outgoing mail
  • Switchboard Coverage: Manage calls from several lines, greet visitors, and schedule conference rooms

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
  • Work hours are 8:00am to 4:30pm, Monday-Friday, with a 1-hour lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary:  Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,831 (before taxes).

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Graduation from high school; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirements (NSRs):

  • This position requires keyboarding skills to meet standards for speed and accuracy.

Additional Requirements:
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
