Serve your community while developing valuable skills! As a Driver License Examiner Assistant with the Department of Transportation, you will help customers navigate essential licensing services. This position focuses on assisting customers with driver licensing services and supporting safe transportation practices. You will examine identity documents, process applications and provide accurate information to the public. As a Driver License Examiner Assistant, you will perform the following duties:

  • Customer Service: Greet customers professionally and guide them through licensing requirements
  • Document Review: Examine identity documents to ensure accuracy and prevent fraud
  • Testing Support: Administer knowledge tests and vision screenings for applicants
  • Data Entry: Enter application and test information into on line licensing systems
  • Information Guidance: Provide explanations on licensing options, REAL ID rules, and related requirements
  • Policy Compliance: Follow customer service standards, fee waiver rules, and REAL ID regulations

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:15 AM to 4:45 PM, Tuesday - Saturday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Overtime and travel to other Driver License Centers when needed
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year of experience obtaining, evaluating, and providing information to the public.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
