BNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The expected base salary for this position when employment commences can be found in the Job Info section at the bottom of the posting.
Base salary offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Base salary is only part of the total rewards package, which may include eligibility for an annual discretionary incentive award. Subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable plans then in effect, eligible employees may enroll in a 401(k) plan as well as participate in Company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance plans for the employee and the employee's eligible dependents. Eligible employees also may receive other benefits (including various paid time off benefits, such as vacation and sick time), dependent on the position offered. We're seeking a future team member for the role of Senior Vice President, Full-Stack Engineer to join our Engineering GP&T Client Platform team. This role is in New York, NY.
In this role, you'll have the opportunity to impact on our organization in the following ways:
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of full stack applications aligned with business needs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, operations, and security to deliver innovative solutions.
- Drive best practices in coding, testing, and deployment to ensure high-quality software delivery.
- Mentor and guide junior developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Participate in architectural decisions and contribute to technology strategy.
- Lead the code reviews and debugging efforts.
- Ensure applications meet security, compliance, and performance standards.
- Partner with stakeholders on project priorities, timelines, and deliverables, ensuring successful execution and timely delivery.
- Continuously contributing directly to the success of project deliverables.
To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- 10-14 years of experience in software development required; experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus
- Experience in designing and developing large-scale, mission-critical, high-performance, high-availability systems.
- Expert-level knowledge in design and development of client-facing RESTful APIs.
- Strong expertise in Java/Spring Boot/REST development, including microservices and event-driven architecture implementation.
- Basic knowledge of front-end technologies: Angular, HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
- Software engineering experience with demonstrable, recent use of AI-native development tools as a core part of workflow.
- Strong knowledge of RDBMS and messaging technologies (IBM MQ, Kafka).
- Solid grasp of Git, CI/CD, containerization, and automated API testing.
- Knowledge of OAuth2/OIDC, mTLS, signed request verification using public/private key cryptography.
- Experience in using code quality and static analysis tools like SonarQube or Veracode.
- Experience in Agile methodologies, either Scrum or Kanban.
- Prior experience as a lead engineer working in finance, particularly in payments.
- Strong technical and communication skills.
