This position will work daylight shifts. This is a union position.

Purpose:
Performs a variety of duties in and around the Hospital complex and assist trades in daily tasks and projects.
Responsibilities:
 

  • Assist craft trades on a daily basis as directed.
  • Pick up, deliver, load and unload materials as directed.
  • Cut and install general ceiling tiles throughout the facility.
  • Complete work orders with appropriate information.
  • Use the Basics of Service Excellence as a guide, respond to the needs of individual patients, employees, department or other organizations with courtesy, respect and a positive outlook that reflects the team effort of the department.
  • Adhere to the Basics of Service Excellence in all interactions with clients and the public.
  • Exhibit, both verbally and behaviorally, a commitment to the values of service excellence in carrying out on-going duties.
  • Maintain a positive outlook and interactions with co-workers, which contribute to the team effort of the department.
  • Participate in signage maintenance including installations, upgrades, cleansing, etc.
  • Able to accept flexible working hours and shifts as well as being available in an on-call basis for emergency responses.
  • Perform litter control on an as needed basis or as directed by supervisor.
  • Maintain clean and safe work area, equipment rooms and shop areas.
  • Record work orders and submit hours to supervisor on a daily basis. Perform all work following infection control procedures.
  • *Performs in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors.
  • *Performs other duties as assigned.

High school diploma. One year of experience in a health-related environment preferred. Ability to understand and comply with oral and written instruction. Ability to work under supervision when working with the other crafts. Ability to perform a variety of activities according to specific assignments. Ability to stand, walk, etc. for extended periods also, bend, stoop, kneel, lift, shovel, etc. required. Exert up to 100 lbs of force occasionally required. Ability to work overtime or off-hours when necessary.
