UPMC Children's Community Pediatrics is hiring a Limited Part-Time Medical Assistant to support the office in Pittsburgh.
Weekend and evening availability required to support the hours of operation.
Clinic Hours: 1p-9p Mon-Fri 9a-9p Sat-Sun
Rate and Title will be determined based on education and experience.
Responsibilities:
- Patient Care: Perform labs, and assist physicians with procedures. Document patient information and relay instructions.
- Clinic Operations: Prepare and clean patient rooms, manage inventory, and ensure infection control.
- Administrative Tasks: Schedule appointments, verify insurance, manage charts, and handle front office duties.
- Compliance: Adhere to HIPAA, OSHA, CLIA, and PA Department of Health regulations. Maintain strict confidentiality.
- Support: Assist patients with walking, transfers, dressing, and collecting specimens. Answer calls and provide patient education.
- Medication Administration: Administer injectable medication and vaccines under physician supervision.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior pediatric office experience strongly preferred.
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
CPR certification within 30 days of hire.
Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Act 31, Act 33, Act 34, Act 73.
