This position focuses on processing incoming and outgoing mail while supporting document sorting and preparation for the Bureau of Motor Vehicles. As a Clerical Assistant 1, you will perform the following duties:

  • Mail Handling: Receive, open, sort, batch, and deliver incoming and outgoing work for multiple areas
  • Package Processing: Scan, log, and track bulk packages using handheld scanners and designated systems
  • Document Preparation: Remove staples, flatten documents, mend torn pages, and organize materials for batching
  • Address Sorting: Read and separate work for pipeline processes and delivery to specific bureaus
  • Customer Contact: Notify internal customers when bulk packages arrive and complete batch headers as needed
  • Work Distribution: Deliver and pick up work, place items on shelves, and rotate duties at the dock

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position. 
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.
