This position as a County Caseworker 2 with Lycoming County Children & Youth Services offers a chance to support students and families in meaningful ways. This role centers on offering support services that help students and families address their needs in practical and effective ways. It involves working across agencies to provide early assistance that can reduce the need for more formal intervention. As a County Caseworker 2, you will perform the following duties:

  • Needs Assessment: Evaluate student and family needs across different settings
  • Short-Term Support: Provide brief interventions aimed at resolving immediate concerns
  • Service Referrals: Connect individuals with appropriate community resources
  • Follow-Up Coordination: Check on progress to ensure services remain effective
  • Cross-Agency Work: Collaborate with partners to offer broad support services

Work Schedule and Additional Information: 
  • Full-time employment.
  • Work hours are 8:00AM to 4:30PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework:  You will not have the option to telework in this position.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • Six months of experience as a County Caseworker 1; or
  • Successful completion of the County Social Casework Intern program; or
  • A bachelor's degree with a social welfare major; or 
  • A bachelor's degree which includes or is supplemented by 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences and one year of professional social casework experience in a public or private social service agency; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences.
  • Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within two months of graduating with a qualifying degree/credits.
