This role focuses on providing security services that protect property, facilities, employees, and the public throughout Fort Indiantown Gap. As an Installation Security Officer, you will perform the following duties:

  • Facility Patrols: Conduct foot and vehicle patrols to monitor buildings, grounds, and potential hazards
  • Access Control: Screen individuals at entry points to determine authorization and ensure proper identification
  • Security Checks: Perform physical and visual inspections of high threat areas and restricted locations
  • Emergency Response: Respond to alarms, incidents, and calls for assistance while coordinating with emergency personnel
  • Information Verification: Use law enforcement databases to review records related to individuals and vehicles
  • Traffic Oversight: Direct vehicles, manage parking rules, and support safe movement throughout the installation

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 12 hour shifts, 40 hours per week
  • DMVA is staffed by work shifts that cover the facility 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, work hours to be determined. You will work a schedule based on seniority, with rotating days off. 
    • 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM
    • Your schedule may change based on operational needs.
  • Overtime and travel as needed
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years of security, law enforcement, or military experience; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirements:

  • You must be in possession of an active motor vehicle license.
  • You must obtain active National Crime Information Center (NCIC) certification issued by the Federal Bureau of Investigation within the probationary period and maintain certification for the duration of employment in this job.
  • You must obtain active Commonwealth Law Enforcement Assistance Network (CLEAN) and Pennsylvania Justice Network (JNET) certifications issued by the Pennsylvania State Police within the probationary period and maintain certification for the duration of employment in this job.
  • You must obtain a Common Access Card (CAC) as issued by the federal Department of Defense within the probationary period and maintain access for the duration of employment in this job.

Additional Requirements:

  • You must possess a valid federal or state-issued photo ID and pass a favorable NCIC screening for admittance to Fort Indiantown Gap.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
    • Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
