GENERAL OVERVIEW:
Operating Room Core Support is a critical member of the surgical team, responsible for ensuring the seamless and efficient provision of all necessary surgical instrumentation, supplies, and equipment within the Operating Room. This role encompasses both the assembly and preparation of surgical case carts and the meticulous management of all OR equipment. This role plays a vital role in patient safety, positive patient outcomes, and surgical efficiency by acting as a liaison between Sterile Processing and the OR, coordinating inventory, and ensuring all items are readily availability and in optimal working order.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Accurately assemble surgical case carts with proper surgical instrumentation and other necessary surgical supply items according to established protocols (50%)
- Coordinate, stock, and pull inventory, preparing necessary supplied and instruments for emergent and routine surgical cases. Ensure the integrity of packing, wraps, and containers (20%)
- Serve as a primary liaison between Sterile Processing and the Operating Room staff to ensure smooth, uninterrupted daily materials support. Collaborate closely with surgeons, nurses, and other surgical personnel t support a seamless and effective surgical environment (20%)
- Prepare, maintain, and manage, all surgical equipment and instrumentation used within the operating room. This includes insuring all equipment is in optimal working order and is appropriately sterilized and disinfected (5%)
- Uphold the highest standards of quality control for all instruments and equipment, contributing directly to patient safety and surgical efficiency (5%)
- Performs other duties as assigned or required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum
- CPR – American Heart Association within 60 days of hire.
Preferred
- CRCST eligible or CRCST preferred
- Sterile processing or six months experience in a hospital setting preferred
- Enrollment in a surgical tech/sterile processing program preferred

- Ability to work with minimal supervision
