This position supports the Special Hauling Permit Program by reviewing applications, assisting customers, and maintaining essential program records.  Primary responsibilities will involve communicating with applicants, applying permit rules, and supporting coordination with internal and external partners.  As a Clerical Assistant 3, you will perform the following duties:


  • Application Review: Examine permit applications for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with laws and procedures
  • Customer Support: Provide clear information to applicants, agencies, and the public through phone, email, or written communication
  • Record Management: Organize program documents, track fees, and maintain accurate files for approved and denied permits
  • Regulation Guidance: Explain rules, policies, and requirements related to hauling permits and program activities
  • Route Coordination: Assist with reviewing routes, restrictions, and clearances for permit applications
  • System Operation: Use necessary computer programs to process applications, maintain records, and support permit operation

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 5 days per pay period.  In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.  If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in King of Prussia.  The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.  Additional details may be provided during the interview.
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $41,506.00 (before taxes).

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Clerical Assistant 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • One year of moderately complex clerical experience; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements: 

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
