This role focuses on receiving, storing, and distributing inventory and commissary items that support daily facility operations. As a Corrections Stock Clerk, you will perform the following duties:

  • Inventory Handling: Receive, inspect, store, and distribute stock while maintaining accurate delivery logs
  • Commissary Processing: Manage inmate orders by verifying account balances, staging items, and recording transactions
  • Inmate Oversight: Direct inmate workers by assigning tasks, providing training, and monitoring attendance and performance
  • Security Practices: Conduct searches, safeguard materials, and maintain a clean and secure work area
  • Equipment Operation: Operate forklifts, hand trucks, and delivery vehicles to move oversized or heavy items
  • Record Maintenance: Compile reports, track inventory data, and document shortages or damaged goods

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
  • Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year of stockroom, warehouse, retail sales, or clerical experience; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirements:

  • You must be in possession of an active motor vehicle license.

Additional Requirements:

  • Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements: 

  • You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements..
