As an Institutional Parole Assistant with the Department of Corrections, you will support interviews, maintain reports, and coordinate essential release documentation at the State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Camp Hill. This position supports the parole release process by assisting with interviews, preparing reports, coordinating documentation, and maintaining accurate records. Daily responsibilities help ensure that inmates are released according to law, policy, and investigative findings. As an Institutional Parole Assistant, you will perform the following duties:
- Release Coordination: Prepare release documents, maintain interview dockets, and ensure required steps are completed before release
- Inmate Interviews: Meet with inmates to explain parole procedures, gather information, and provide required notifications
- Record Management: Scan files, update docket systems, maintain folders, and upload documents for board review
- Information Review: Examine misconduct reports, criminal histories, movement sheets, and other records to support case decisions
- Communication Support: Answer calls, relay information, respond to messages, and assist staff, applicants, and family members
- Mail Processing: Open, sort, date stamp, and distribute incoming mail and prepare outgoing correspondence

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Four years of experience as a Clerical Assistant 2 in the Department of Corrections or Probation and Parole Board (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- One year of complex clerical experience; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Other Requirements:

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.

- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
