Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
- Contributes to electrcial team for one or more New Product Development (NPD) projects
- Designs electrical circuit schematics for test boards, prototypes, and new product designs
- Independantly and creatively develops ideas and solutions to electrical and system design problems
- Validates, tests, and debugs circuit boards
- Develops printed circuit board (PCB) layout of complex multi-layer circuit board designs
- Completes PCB Gerber file generation, ordering, and design file coordination with fabrication house
- Completes surface mount component rework of printed circuit boards and component replacement as needed
- Runs and documents electrical and system tests

Special Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
- Knowledge of digital/analog circuit design and communication protocols such as SPI, UART, I2C
- Solid interpersonal skills in design collaboration with the electrical engineering team
- Creative Problem Solving Skills
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office Tools
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
Special Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:
- Knowledge of schematic capture and PCB design using Altium Designer or other similar software
- Knowledge of the PCB/PCBA manufacturing process
- Knowledge of electrical design implementation to meet EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility) standards
Education and Experience Required:
- Must be pursuing an Associates or Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics or other relevant Engineering discipline, from an ABET-accredited program, and have completed at least one semester of Sophomore year before beginning this co-op rotation.
