As a Clerical Assistant 2 with the Department of Transportation, you will play a key part in keeping garage and maintenance activities running smoothly. This position allows you to learn important administrative processes while supporting staff in Centre and Clinton Counties. You will handle documents, records, and communication that help the team stay efficient. This role provides a steady and rewarding way to build your clerical experience.
This position supports the garage and maintenance operations by handling records, documents, data, and communication for staff in two counties. The role helps ensure that fuel records, forms, corrections, and clerical needs are handled accurately and on time. As a Clerical Assistant 2, you will perform the following duties:
- Fuel Records: Maintain daily fuel distribution records, including cards, clearances, reports, and transaction logs
- Document Handling: Copy and distribute paperwork for garage and maintenance personnel across both counties
- Form Review: Check M-614 forms for accuracy and notify staff when corrections or computer updates are needed
- Office Filing: Organize and file daily equipment forms and other documents in the proper locations
- Staff Support: Assist managers and supervisors with typing, data entry, and basic clerical needs
- Purchase Tracking: Record garage purchases and monitor the progress of parts orders

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
- Work hours are 7:00 am to 3:00 pm, Monday-Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,831.00 (before taxes).

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Graduation from high school; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
