We are seeking a hands-on  Tech Support & Field Technician  to support our industrial customers and manage our shop in the Strip District neighborhood of Pittsburgh. This role combines technical fieldwork at customer sites with responsibility for daily shop operations. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, good with computers, comfortable with low-voltage systems, organized, safety-focused, and enjoys working independently in a fast-paced environment  

Responsibilities may include any of the following: 

  • Provide first-level technical support to customers via phone and email   
  • Perform on-site troubleshooting and repairs efficiently and professionally 
  • Follow all customer safety rules and successfully complete required safety training 
  • Work safely in potentially hazardous industrial environments, including elevated locations using ladders and active industrial facilities with strict safety procedures 
  • Use company vehicles, tools, and equipment responsibly 
  • Travel to industrial customer sites to install, maintain, diagnose, and repair Low-voltage systems including surveillance cameras, networking, and related equipment   
  • Build, configure, and ship end user equipment.

A qualified candidate will exhibit most of the characteristics below: 

  • Experience with low-voltage systems, surveillance cameras, networking equipment, or similar technology 
  • Working knowledge of IP networking (Ethernet and wireless), PoE devices, and CCTV systems     
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues independently 
  • Comfortable working both in a shop environment and at customer sites 
  • Ability to travel locally and regionally as required 
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills 
  • Ability to follow procedures and document work accurately 
  • Intermediate computer skills – office applications, ability to learn/use equipment vendor software 
  • Willingness and ability to complete customer safety training programs  
  • High school diploma or GED 
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record 
  • Ability to consistently pass a drug test 

Physical & Safety Requirements 

  • Ability to safely climb ladders and work at heights 
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment (typical industrial equipment weights) 
  • Ability to work in industrial environments with potential hazards 
  • Willing to have a clean (shaven) face when required to wear a respirator 
  • Strong commitment to workplace and customer-site safety 

Preferred (But Not Required) 

  • Familiarity with bills of material, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software 
  • Experience in heavy industry, petrochemical, oil and gas 
  • Experience working at heights, fall protection
