Within this role, you will be part of the Bureau of Motor Vehicles where your work will ensure the integrity of our licensing processes. You will become the link between PennDOT and our valued customer base, delivering exceptional service to the public while ensuring that motorists are in possession of the documents necessary to safely navigate their vehicles on the roadways!
This position supports the processing of motor vehicle and driver licensing applications while providing courteous and helpful service to the public. Your role will prioritize accuracy, compliance, and strong customer support across many different transaction types. As a Clerical Assistant 3, you will perform the following duties:
- Application Processing: Review and process motor vehicle and driver licensing documents using computer systems
- Customer Assistance: Answer questions in person or by phone and guide customers through required forms and procedures
- Record Accuracy: Research discrepancies and update customer records to ensure correctness
- Payment Handling: Manage cash, checks, and card payments while following required guidelines
- Transaction Review: Check applications for completeness and verify supporting information
- Office Support: Monitor supplies, assist with training, and help maintain an organized work area

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 40 hours/week
- Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year as a Clerical Assistant 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- One year of moderately complex clerical experience; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Additional Requirements:
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
