This position provides leadership and direction for strategic priorities that support small business inclusion in state contracting. The role guides partnerships, data analysis, and program development across the Commonwealth. As a Director of Strategic Initiatives, you will perform the following duties:

  • Project Leadership: Guide major initiatives and special projects that strengthen programs and outreach efforts
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong connections with agencies, partners, and community groups to advance small business goals
  • Data Analysis: Review key data and trends to shape policy recommendations and improvements
  • Strategic Guidance: Advise leadership on priorities that support outreach, engagement, and resource planning
  • Team Direction: Support staff development and promote a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, three days a week in the office (Tues, Wed, Fri). In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 3 years of professional experience in Business Administration, Public Administration, Public Policy, Economics, Procurement, Data Analytics, or a closely related field. Or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in direct supervisory or leadership experience, with a proven track record of managing diverse, cross-functional teams (the role specifically requires leading a team of 6 or more people).
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in Analytics & Reporting, stakeholder engagement, and administrative oversight

Additional Requirements:

  • You must have three or more years of full-time professional experience using Enterprise Resource Planning (EPR) systems, i.e., SAP, PRISM, B2Gnow, SRM, etc.
  • You must have full-time professional experience in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and PowerPoint.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Preferred Qualifications (not required):

  • A Master's degree in business administration, public administration, public policy, economics, procurement, data analytics, or a closely related field.
  • 3 years of professional experience in procurement, supplier diversity, supplier development/readiness, and/or programming.
