Sign on Bonus Eligible: $30,000 (3 year commitment)

GENERAL OVERVIEW:

This job performs prescribed radiographic imaging procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision. Competently performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment and initiative.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs management responsibilities to include, but are not limited to: involved in hiring and termination decisions, coaching and development, rewards and recognition, performance management and staff productivity. Plan, organize, staff, direct, and control the day-to-day operations of the department; develop and implement policies and programs as necessary; may have budgetary responsibility and authority.(20%)

  • Acts as a mentor for new staff and uses technical expertise to improve staff performance. Assists in the management of human resources (performance management), staff/equipment schedule, payroll, and non-labor expenses and activities for the department. Maintains a quality assurance program according to regulations established by regulatory bodies. (30%)

  • Positions patients and selects anatomic and technical parameters accurately for independent MRI imaging per established protocols. Prepares for and assists physician while performing procedures. Prepares contrast media and/or medications within accepted scope of practice. (20%)

  • Implements MRI safety and patient safety standards and provides technical expertise for development of protocols.

  • Implements and standardizes imaging protocols in coordination with radiation physics and division directors. Responsible for maintaining safe MRI operation through adherence to established policies and procedures. Responsible for assessing risk of implanted devices and other conditions, collaborating with the MR Safety Expert and MR Medical Director to ensure safe procedures and accurate billing. (10%)

  • Assures completion of all required documentation for quality control and equipment maintenance, procedures, e.g. regulatory, billing, protocol and image distribution. Maintains ACR certification and registries (if applicable). Implements and educates staff on all imaging institute policies, procedures, guidelines, and quality initiatives for MRI modality. (20%)

  • Performs duties as assigned or required

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum

  • Associate’s degree; or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent education and experience.

  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (R)(MR), or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT), or Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT)

  • 3 years as an MRI Technologist.

  • CPR – American Heart Association

  • Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate

  • Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate

  • Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
