UPMC University of Pittsburgh Physicians is hiring a Sr. Practice Manager to oversee multiple practice locations for their Hepatobiliary Surgery and Endocrine Surgery team in Pittsburgh! This role supports 9,600 annual patient visits across multiple practice locations for Hepatobiliary Surgery and Endocrine Surgery. There is an Office Coordinator providing direct oversight for the Endocrine Surgery group. In total there are 8 Surgeons, 1 PhD, 1 Fellow, 4 APPs, 10 Nurses, 4 Admin Assistants, 2 Psych Specialty Counselors, 1 Research Manager, and 1 Research Data Analyst in the scope of this position.
This position will be expected to visit clinic locations monthly, and will be responsible for managing all operational aspects of the practice sites to ensure quality patient care. Additionally, this role will partner with the BRIDGES BU Site Leader to disseminate information and implement action items across the entire Department of Surgery.
Hours for this position will be Monday through Friday, primarily daylight hours. No weekends or holidays required! Previous healthcare and management experience are required.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure appropriate and high quality staffing through the strategic placement of office coordinators, office and practice managers.
- Supervise and oversee practice budgets.
- Develop and maintain a patient-centric culture, centered around patient arrival and follow up activities in line with the consumerism initiatives, if applicable.
- Serve as liaison to various UPMC departments and resources.
- Serve as liaison for renovations, construction and building utilization with UPMC and outside construction services.
- Develop strategic plans for practices.
- Monitor practice operations to identify areas for improvement, expansion of services, and potential new market areas.
- Ensure compliance with all UPMC policies and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with staff, physicians and peers through oral and written communications.
- Assist in the due diligence, practice valuations, contract negotiations and staffing as required.
- Assist in physician relations as necessary.
- Maintain knowledge initiatives as it relates to the operation of the practices.
- Oversee and assist in the recruitment of staff and new practices.
- Review and evaluate the effectiveness of current procedures and plans with Office/Practice Manager and Physician to develop and implement new, more efficient systems and procedures as required to improve office operations.
- Monitor and meet practice specific benchmarks inclusive of point of service and scheduling (inclusive of template management for timely patient access), if applicable.
- Bachelors Degree + 3 years of management experience w/ 1 year healthcare experience OR
- Associate's Degree + 3 years healthcare experience and 3 years of management experience OR
- High School Diploma + 5 years healthcare experience / Fellowship Program Graduate / and 5 years of management experience
