Senior Data Center Network Engineer
Location: Pittsburgh, PA (Hybrid – Local Candidates Preferred)
Duration: 6+ Month Contract

Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior Data Center Network Engineer to support a large-scale enterprise data center decommissioning and infrastructure migration initiative. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on retiring legacy data center infrastructure while ensuring seamless migration of network services with minimal business disruption.
The ideal candidate has strong Cisco routing and switching experience, has participated in data center migrations or decommissioning projects, and is comfortable working across load balancers, DNS, and enterprise networking technologies.
Required Skills
- 8+ years of enterprise network engineering experience
- Strong Cisco routing and switching experience
- Experience supporting data center decommissioning, migration, or infrastructure consolidation projects
- Strong knowledge of BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, VLANs, and enterprise routing
- Experience working with Cisco Nexus, Catalyst, and ASR platforms
- Experience with enterprise DNS solutions, preferably Infoblox
- Experience migrating or decommissioning network infrastructure while maintaining production services
- Strong troubleshooting and change management experience
Preferred Skills
- Cisco ACI (ability to navigate the environment and understand fabric health)
- Citrix NetScaler load balancers
- F5 BIG-IP (LTM/GTM)
- VXLAN / EVPN
- MPLS
- Python or Ansible automation
- Visio documentation
Responsibilities
- Support enterprise data center decommissioning and migration activities
- Analyze existing network infrastructure and identify components targeted for retirement
- Execute routing, switching, and traffic migration activities
- Assist with migration of applications and services off Citrix NetScaler and F5 load balancers
- Support DNS migrations and administration using Infoblox
- Validate network connectivity before, during, and after migration activities
- Troubleshoot complex Layer 2 and Layer 3 network issues
- Create and maintain network documentation, migration plans, and implementation procedures
- Partner with infrastructure, application, and operations teams to coordinate migration activities
- Participate in change management and production implementation windows
Qualifications
- CCNP Enterprise or equivalent experience preferred
- Experience working in enterprise or financial services environments is a plus
- Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills
Additional Information
- Local Pittsburgh candidates are strongly preferred due to occasional onsite requirements.
- W-2 only. No C2C.
