This role supports the safety and security of consumers, staff, visitors, and property across the hospital campus. The work helps maintain order, support emergency response, and ensure seamless operations. As a Security Officer 1, you will perform the following duties:

  • Facility Patrol: Monitor tunnels, buildings, and grounds to identify safety hazards, unauthorized persons, and unusual conditions
  • Traffic Control: Enforce vehicle regulations, maintain orderly parking, and support proper traffic flow on hospital property
  • Assistance Service: Escort or help visitors, consumers, and staff by providing directions, support, and safe movement
  • Emergency Response: Assist with searches, incident investigations, and coordination with emergency services
  • Report Completion: Document daily activities, incidents, and observations according to established procedures
  • Operational Support: Perform inspections, deliver items, and assist with communication center coverage when needed

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
  • Work hours are 12:00 AM to 8:00 AM, with varied days off and two 15-minute breaks. You will work every other weekend. Schedule may change based on operational needs.
  • Overtime as operationally necessary
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position. 
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $38,515.00 (before taxes).

QUALIFICATIONS

Special Requirement:

  • This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania Motor Vehicle operator's license.

  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
