The Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) is recruiting for a Clinical Research Coordinator to assist the research teams in the Division of Neuropsychology and Rehabilitation Psychology and the Division of Pediatric Neuropsychology. This position supports the research of senior investigators, which could include administrative activities and administration of neuropsychological assessments to study participants, as well as assisting with database development and maintenance using REDCap (Research Electronic Data Capture). This position is based out of UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, Lawrenceville Campus and/or UPMC Mercy. The issuance of satisfactory Pennsylvania State Child Protection Clearances and TB testing will be required upon hire. (A preemployment TB test is utilized to pre-emptively prevent the spread of tuberculosis to medical and healthcare professionals as well as patients.)

Assists with and adheres to Institutional Review Board (IRB) renewal, modification, and approved protocols. Recruits research subjects and conducts interviews and research assessments.
This position will require on-site work at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh campus in the Lawrenceville section of Pittsburgh as well as at UPMC Mercy. Hybrid work options will be available after successful completion of the new hire provisional period.
Independently creates and carries out research studies as assigned
Assists with study start-up (preparing training materials, setting up data collection platforms, ordering supplies/equipment, etc.)
Recruits, screens, enrolls and consents participants
Conducts study visits, administers study protocol including specialized assessments that require certification, scores assessments and, monitors and compensates participants
Creates and maintains data collection systems and study databases, processes and enters data
Provides regular study updates to the project manager and investigators and assists with communications with subcontracted data collection sites, if applicable
Assists with regulatory (IRB) and sponsor reporting, prepares site for sponsor monitoring visits
Assists Study Coordinator with writing of protocols and completion of IRB applications for new projects, and completes IRB SCRs, amendments, ORIOs, and AEs
Assists in the development and maintenance of the REDCap databases for projects within the Division of Neuropsychology and Rehabilitation Psychology
Serves as the primary point of contact, coordinates meetings, and independently creates and delivers presentations for organizations who advocate/support the populations of the studies they are working on. Attends national and local meetings, support groups and other community events as our lab's representative, does qualitative coding of data and conducts analyses of this data
Completes other duties as assigned
