Federated Hermes is seeking a Sr. Manager – Internal Audit to join our team at our downtown Pittsburgh headquarters. This supervisory role offers broad exposure across the organization, providing continuous learning opportunities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where no two days are the same.

What you can expect:

  • Assist in developing the department’s methodology for assessing risk within the Company and its business units; participate on risk management committees.
  • Assist in the development of an annual risk based audit plan that incorporates a continuous assessment of risks, the Company’s/Funds’ goals, and input from Senior Management and the Audit Committees.
  • Manage the planning and execution of all assigned projects and reviews to ensure timely and effective completion of engagements.
  • Perform/oversee all phases of assigned projects and reviews including communication with business unit management, completion of risk assessments, establishment of scope and objectives, documentation of walkthroughs, Risk and Controls Matrices and testing, and comparisons of automation and processes to best practice.
  • Draft and/or review, edit and approve status documents and project reports, and oversee the timely communication of observations/recommendations to management.
  • Establish and foster “partnering” relationships with business unit management; promote a proactive approach during all projects and reviews.
  • Provide guidance and technical assistance regarding risks, control concepts and audit procedures to staff, internal clients and external clients.
  • Assist in the completion and documentation of special projects assigned by senior management, Audit Committees or Boards of Directors.
  • Participate in the interviewing, hiring, training, deployment, coaching and evaluation of staff.
  • Maintain product, audit and regulatory knowledge and skill by reviewing current literature and attending relevant seminars, conferences and training sessions.
  • Maintain professional conduct in accordance with the Internal Audit Charter and the IIA Global Internal Audit Standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in order to meet the overall objectives of the audit department.

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related financial field required; CIA, CPA, CISA or willingness to pursue certification preferred
  • Minimum of 8 years of auditing experience or related business experience required; Experience within the mutual fund or financial services industry preferred
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel) required
  • Experience conducting operational/process audits preferred
  • Experience with data analytics concepts/tools preferred
