This specialized position performs skilled welding and metal repair work to support equipment, structures, and transportation operations. Strong technical skills, diligent attention to safety, and the capacity to work in challenging conditions are essential traits for this profession. As a Welder, you will perform the following duties:
- Welding Repairs: Perform skilled welding on metal parts, frames, plows, hitches, and bridge components using various welding methods
- Safety Practices: Follow safety rules, use protective equipment, and maintain a clean and organized work area
- Equipment Operation: Operate tools and vehicles when needed to complete field repairs and support transportation activities
- Environmental Support: Participate in environmental training and support goals in the Strategic Environmental Management Program
- Physical Readiness: Carry out physically demanding tasks in difficult weather and site conditions while using proper protective gear
- Team Coordination: Work with supervisors and coworkers to schedule tasks, respond to emergencies, and complete repair assignments

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Seasonal full-time employment from October 2026 to March 2027.
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- This position may require mandatory or unscheduled overtime associated with operational and seasonal needs.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Three years of experience in the operation and use of welding equipment, materials, and related shop equipment to repair, maintain, or fabricate parts, equipment, or structures; or
- Completion of a three-year, high school Vo-Tech training program in welding and eighteen months of experience in the operation and use of welding equipment, materials, and related shop equipment to repair, maintain, or fabricate parts, equipment, or structures; or
- Completion of an approved welder apprentice program; or
- A welding certificate D1.1 from the American Welding Society; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirement:
- This position requires possession of an active Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License.
