As an Event and Traffic Safety Staff member with the Department of Agriculture, you will help keep the Farm Show complex safe and welcoming. This position allows you to handle a variety of duties, from assisting visitors to monitoring facility conditions. You will use clear communication and problem solving to support smooth daily operations. This position supports the safety and security of the Farm Show complex by monitoring activity, assisting visitors, and maintaining safe traffic and parking areas. The role also involves responding to emergencies and communicating important information to staff and leadership. As an Event and Traffic Safety Staff, you will perform the following duties:
- Patrol Duties: Complete interior and exterior patrols to maintain a safe environment
- Traffic Support: Manage parking areas and maintain steady traffic flow during events
- Customer Service: Provide clear information and assistance to visitors, clients, and participants
- Communication Skills: Share important details with supervisors and departments through written and verbal updates
- Emergency Response: Respond to alarms and assist emergency teams with accurate location details
- Operational Tasks: Prepare parking areas, manage lost and found items, and complete daily logs

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Free on-site parking
- Temporary, part-time employment
- All guards operate on an on-call basis, with no specific shifts assigned. This arrangement allows for flexibility in staffing to accommodate the needs of events held at the facility.
- Work schedules will include weekends, holidays, and various shifts as required. The specific hours and days may change based upon operational needs.
- 1st shift: 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM
- 2nd shift: 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM
- 3rd shift: 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
