At UPMC Presbyterian, we’re looking for a Central Sterile Processing Supervisor to guide operations, mentor staff, and ensure the highest standards of safety, precision, and patient care.

What You’ll Do:
- Lead daily operations of the department, ensuring top-tier cleaning, decontamination, sterilization, assembly, and distribution of surgical instruments
- Supervise, mentor, and support a team of skilled technicians, promoting a culture of accountability, growth, and compassion
- Serve as a key resource for clinical teams, solving issues, answering questions, and ensuring service excellence
- Partner with the manager to maintain compliance with regulatory and safety standards
- Drive performance improvement and help spread best practices across the department and hospital
- Champion education and development by coordinating internal and external training opportunities
- Lead initiatives that promote diversity, team wellness, and a positive work culture
- Participate in staff evaluations, scheduling, and strategic planning for departmental success
- Share knowledge through presentations, posters, and innovation efforts
What It Takes:

- Commitment to patient safety, quality, and service
- Passion for mentoring, motivating, and making a difference behind the scenes
- High School Graduate or equivalent.
- 3 years experience in central sterile processing required.
- 2 years supervisory or team leader experience required.
- Ability to communicate effectively with peers, physicians, staff of other hospital departments, and outside contacts. Must complete 10 hours of continuing education to remain qualified as a Central Sterile Technician on an annual basis.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
- Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution OR Certified Registered Central Service Technician OR International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management
- Act 34
