UPMC Community Care Behavioral Health is hiring a full-time Contract Specialist I to join the Network Management team. This hybrid role will work onsite in downtown Pittsburgh's US Steel Tower 3 days/week - Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. 

The Contract Specialist I will facilitate the processing of provider applications, contracts and data for the Medical Networks.
Responsibilities:
 

  • Review received applications/contracts for completeness.
  • Prepare contract files for off-site storage.
  • Mailing of provider contracts and correspondence.
  • Effectively prioritize and complete all assigned tasks.
  • Follow up with providers for outstanding documents needed to complete the credentialing/contracting process.
  • Prepare provider data documents, including contracts, for scanning.
  • Perform Quality Audit checks of Filenet contract database.
  • Assist with processing of provider data change requests.
  • Respond to phone inquiries from providers.
  • Log application/contract information into appropriate tracking databases.
  • Prepare provider application/contract packets and fax/mail/email to provider.
  • Bachelor's Degree or 4 years of equivalent work experience in a business environment required
    • Preference will be given to those with a Bachelor's degree. 
  • Prior experience within healthcare or contracting is a bonus. 
  • Competence in MS Office required, including MS Excel, MS Access, MS Word
  • Must possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills, with the ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously.
    Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
     
  • Act 34 with renewal

*Current licensure either in the state where the facility is located or, if the facility is in a state covered by the multistate Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC) agreement, a multistate license issued by a participating NLC state. Hires and current employees working on an out-of-state NLC license who later change their residency to the state where the facility is also located will have 60 days upon changing their residency to apply for licensure within that state.
