Park Maintenance Worker (Semi Skilled Laborer) - Tyler State Park

As a Park Maintenance Worker with the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources at Tyler State Park, you will help keep one of Pennsylvania's most popular parks in top shape. You will work with tools, equipment, and park staff to keep park facilities clean, safe, and welcoming for visitors. This position offers rewarding work in a scenic outdoor setting. Your efforts will help visitors enjoy safe and enjoyable park experiences.


This position supports the upkeep of park facilities and grounds to provide a safe, clean environment for visitors. You will perform maintenance, repair, and customer service tasks throughout Tyler State Park. As a Park Maintenance Worker, you will perform the following duties:

  • Facility Repairs: Make basic repairs to buildings, restrooms, and structures using hand and power tools
  • Grounds Care: Mow grass, trim weeds, clean grills, pick up litter, and maintain trees and shrubs
  • Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain mowers, trucks, and other park equipment
  • Housekeeping Tasks: Clean restrooms, shower houses, offices, and other buildings and replace needed supplies
  • Construction Support: Assist with cement work, form building, and simple masonry tasks
  • Visitor Assistance: Provide friendly information and help to park visitors when needed

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • This is a seasonal, full-time position with no healthcare benefits. There is not an option to buy into health care benefits. The season runs from approximately March 2026 until November 2026 at which time the employee will be placed on leave without pay. The employee will automatically be returned to employment March 2027. 
  • Work schedule will vary due to the seasonal nature of the position. Work will be scheduled 5 days/37.5 hours per week
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year of experience in laboring work including the use of tools and equipment used in maintenance or construction; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
