This position provides training and hands-on experience that prepares you to deliver basic care and support to residents in a long-term care setting. As an Aide Trainee, you will perform the following duties:
- Training Participation: Attend classroom sessions and complete clinical instruction to build essential care skills
- Resident Support: Assist residents with daily needs, comfort, and room safety while following infection control practices
- Meal Assistance: Distribute trays, support intake, and help feed residents under required supervision
- Activity Help: Transport residents and assist them during events, programs, and recreational activities
- Equipment Care: Clean and maintain medical devices, wheelchairs, and other care equipment
- Safety Awareness: Report concerns, follow safety policies, and support emergency procedures to protect residents and staff

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
- Work hours: After you obtain certification on an 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM shift for classroom orientation, you will work 2nd shift (3:00 PM to 11:30 PM) or 3rd shift (11:00 PM to 7:30 AM), rotating days, weekends, and holidays, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Preferred Qualifications (not required):
- Willingness and ability to work in Scranton, Lackawanna County, PA
- Willingness to work a full-time permanent position for the 2nd shift (3:00 PM to 11:30 PM) or 3rd shift (11:00 PM to 7:30 AM) with rotating days, weekends, and every other holiday (after certification is obtained on an 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM shift in a classroom orientation)
- Willingness to successfully complete an 8-hour online training course prior to hire and provide a certificate of completion
- Work experience caring for geriatric or physically ill individuals
Legal Requirements:
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
- Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
