The Elections Analyst 1 role with the Department of State gives you the chance to support fair and accurate elections across the Commonwealth. You will help strengthen public confidence by guiding staff and county offices in using essential election systems. This position also supports the planning and implementation of business needs in election technology. This position supports election operations by providing training, technical guidance, and assistance to staff and county offices. It also helps improve election systems by contributing to testing, documentation, and research. As an Elections Analyst 1, you will perform the following duties:

  • Training Support: Lead training sessions and develop materials that help staff and county offices use election systems correctly
  • Technical Assistance: Respond to support requests and track issues from voters, counties, and agency personnel
  • System Improvement: Take part in testing activities and help identify requirements for system updates or enhancements
  • Documentation Work: Prepare or update manuals, guides, and process documents for election programs and technology
  • Data Review: Use research methods, spreadsheets, and reports to study information and make recommendations
  • Election Support: Participate in pre election and post election testing, auditing, and year round liaison activities

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, three days per week in office. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year of professional experience evaluating public programs or information technology systems, and a bachelor’s degree in public administration, business administration, public policy, political science, or information technology; or 
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements:
