Are you confident in your ability to monitor cardiac rhythms and thrive in a fast-paced hospital environment?This position offers a variable schedule with both daylight and overnight opportunities, including 12-hour shifts from 6:30 AM–6:30 PM or 6:30 PM–6:30 AM, as well as weekend and holiday rotations. Candidates can expect to work three 12-hour shifts per week, with no travel or floating required. We're looking for individuals with strong clinical judgment, the ability to accurately monitor cardiac rhythms, and a passion for supporting patient care behind the scenes. Our department plays a vital role in patient care by continuously monitoring patients across the hospital, supporting multiple units simultaneously, and partnering closely with nursing teams to ensure timely intervention and excellent outcomes. Responsibilities:
 
  • Utilize all computer systems (MUSE, TDS, etc) for testing data, results reporting, mailing, billing, etc.
  • Transcribe Holter, Echo, TEE and all varieties of stress testing reports utilizing a dictation system.
  • Maintain equipment by cleaning and stocking on a daily basis as well as alerting appropriate personnel of needed repairs and supplies needed. Also maintain the department area to meet Safety & Security regulations (JCAHO & OSHA).
  • Perform cardiac testing that includes EKGs, rhythm strips, Signal Average ECGs, all varieties of stress testing, Holter Monitoring hook-ups, according to protocol and in a timely fashion.
  • Edit EKGs, after physician review, by deleting, inserting or making additions of established phrases in the ECG Computerized System (MUSE).
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1 year experience in Non-Invasive Cardiac testing, Passing the Basic Arrhythmia Class is required. 
  • Work flexible hours to meet the department needs that include evenings, weekends, holidays and weekend/holiday On-Call required. 
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant or Cardiac Technician course preferred.
    Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
    CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
     
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
  • Act 33 with renewal
  • Act 34 with renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
