Build your confidence and make a difference every day! As a Winter Stock Clerk 1 with the Department of Transportation, you play an important part in helping your community during winter months. This position supports operations by managing communications, documentation, and organizational tasks to keep daily activities running smoothly. It plays a key role in helping staff respond quickly to changing winter conditions. As a Winter Stock Clerk 1, you will perform the following duties:

  • Communication Support: Handle incoming calls and radio messages, directing information to the appropriate personnel
  • Weather Monitoring: Track conditions and notify the proper staff when alerts or updates are needed
  • Record Keeping: Maintain logs for weather, road conditions, equipment assignments, and response actions
  • Emergency Coordination: Relay important updates to radio stations, schools, emergency responders, and other contacts
  • Clerical Tasks: Prepare documents, file materials, process correspondence, and complete general office duties
  • Operational Assistance: Support supervisors by contacting employees, managing call outs, and updating assignment records

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Seasonal, full-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Hours and days are subject to change due to weather and seasonal changes.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Graduation from high school; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
