The Big Picture
This is more than a programming role-it's a chance to shape how things get made. As a Methods Engineer, you'll provide the technical and administrative direction that keeps our manufacturing operation running at its best. You'll generate CNC programs, create route sheets, and work side-by-side with the team on the floor to solve problems, reduce costs, and improve quality. If you like a role that blends hands-on problem-solving with strategic thinking, this is it.
What This Role Really Means
This is both a line and support position.
You'll also help direct and coordinate activities across a multi-functional department-including training programs, developing new manufacturing processes, and driving cost reduction.
Supervision & Leadership
While this is not a full-time supervisory role, you'll step into a supervisory capacity when needed. You'll also lead and direct Bargaining Unit Personnel, so strong communication and people skills are a must.

- Line responsibilities mean you'll help control and coordinate production activities to keep things moving smoothly.
- Support responsibilities mean you'll develop and implement CNC programs and computer-generated route sheets that directly impact how work gets done.
You'll also help direct and coordinate activities across a multi-functional department-including training programs, developing new manufacturing processes, and driving cost reduction.

What You'll Do Day-to-Day
Programming & Documentation
- Generate all CNC programs required for production
- Generate route sheets required for production
- Generate tooling orders for all fixturing needed
- Assist tool designers in pre-designing fixtures
- Generate tool requisitions for non-HI-LO items
Shop Floor Support
- Assist machine operators with troubleshooting as needed
- Direct and control shop floor manufacturing activities
- Manage CAD/CAM interface
Problem Solving & Quality
- Assist Product Engineering in solving quality, manufacturing, and design problems
- Manage and coordinate efforts to eliminate root causes of scrap and rework
- Monitor and control scrap and rework costs
- Monitor safety problems and promote a safe work environment
Process Improvement
- Lead and participate in developing manufacturing techniques that reduce part cost and increase part quality
- Administer a program of good housekeeping across all areas of responsibility
- Monitor and control ISO 9000 requirements where applicable
Requirements
- 5 years of experience in manufacturing, manufacturing processes, and shop floor control
- Experience with graphics-based CNC programming
- Experience with computer-assisted route sheet generation
- Ability to motivate and work effectively with Bargaining Personnel
- Strong communication skills
- Strong analytical capabilities and problem-solving techniques
