The Regulation of Emotion in ASD Adults Children and Teens (REAACT) Lab (www.reaact.pitt.edu), which focuses on emotion and mental health in autism, is seeking a full-time research specialist. The primary responsibility for the applicant will be related to the P3 study within an NIMH Autism Center of Excellence study focused on advancing research on adult mental health and suicide. The employee will mostly work at the MRI center at Presby Hospital, running participants through the MRI for this study and then ensuring the data is accurate and uploaded to the appropriate place for the P.I.

This position is grant funded.

Responsibilities:

  • Support data collection via Qualtrics for Project 3.
  • Escort participants to Presbyterian Hospital for Project 3 imaging appointments.

  • Co-run P3 protocol, including administering pre-scan surveys, orienting participants through practice tasks, pre-screening participants, setting up fMRI scanning room, setting up participants in the scanning room, calibrating and monitoring eye-tracking data throughout scans, running tasks/collecting fMRI data throughout scans, ensuring participant comfort throughout scan, administering post-scan feedback surveys, communicating with fMRI technicians and P3 personnel regarding scan safety concerns if they arise.

  • Ensure MRI data is uploaded and cleaned.

  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Sociology, Business Administration or related area of study and three years of relevant research and/or clinical experience is required.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

  • Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
  • Act 33 with renewal
  • Act 34
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
