Responsible for working directly with attorneys and support staff on client cases. Assist in preparing for upcoming trials and hearings, gather related information, i.e. police reports, witness statements, medical records, client correspondence. Responsible for maintaining an index system for all case files.
Job Duties:
- Some dictation, transcription
- Preparing correspondence
- Maintain client files, both physical and digital files
- Calendar management
- Assisting with E-filing
- Ordering medical records
- Perform secretarial and clerical duties
- Answer telephone
- Perform additional duties as required
Key Competencies:
- Problem assessment and problem solving
- Must be able to manage a heavy workload in a fast-paced environment
- Must be able to communicate with clients and co-workers effectively and efficiently
- Candidates must possess organizational skills, excellent typing skills, a keen eye for detail and accuracy, and have the ability to prioritize, multitask, and work in a team environment
- Minimum of 2 years of legal experience
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Case management systems experience (Filevine, Clio, Needles, etc.)
- Some knowledge of Personal Injury preferred, but not required
- Some knowledge of Medical Malpractice preferred, but not required
- A working knowledge of all phases of litigation preferred, but not required
