This position supports daily mail operations, clerical tasks, and physical duties that help the Department of State function efficiently. The role involves careful attention to detail, steady task management, and regular coordination across program areas. As a Clerical Assistant 2, you will perform the following duties:

  • Mail Coordination: Manage incoming and outgoing mail operations for the Department of State and Central Sort
  • Tracking Logs: Maintain daily logs that record activities and support workflow accuracy
  • Fleet Support: Assist with the upkeep of the Secretary of the Commonwealth and Operations Center vehicles
  • Clerical Support: Provide general clerical assistance to various Department of State programs
  • Machinery Operation: Operate equipment such as copiers, letter openers, printers, and pallet jacks
  • Physical Tasks: Assist with furniture setup, tear down, movement, and delivery of supplies within Harrisburg locations

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,108 (before taxes).

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Graduation from high school; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Additional Requirements: 
  • Possession of a valid driver's license which is not under suspension.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
