Election Analyst 2 for the PA Department of State is a role where your work helps keep elections running smoothly across the Commonwealth. This position allows you to guide important election processes that impact every voter. You will have the opportunity to support the Assistant Chief of the Division of Election Administration with operations, including candidate nomination petitions and papers. This position supports key election operations and helps counties stay informed and prepared throughout the election cycle. It plays an important role in guiding nomination processes and county communications. As an Election Analyst 2, you will perform the following duties:

  • Lead Liaison Program: Facilitate the county liaison program and guide its activities
  • Conduct Staff Meetings: Hold weekly meetings and trainings for liaison staff
  • Prepare Communications: Develop newsletters, memorandums, and emails for counties
  • Monitor Deadlines: Track statutory and administrative deadlines in the election calendar
  • Manage Nomination Process: Oversee nomination materials, filings, and related training resources
  • Review Policies and Forms: Analyze laws, policies, and forms and recommend updates

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, three days per week in office. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as an Elections Analyst 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or 
  • Two years of professional experience evaluating public programs or information technology systems, and a bachelor’s degree in public administration, business administration, public policy, political science, or information technology; or 
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements: 

  • You must have one year of project management experience involving leading a team of professionals and ensuring deadlines are met.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
