Reporting directly to the Director of Sports Science, the Assistant Director of Sports Science assists with the strategic direction and coordination of a comprehensive multi-disciplinary sport science/performance program within the University of Pittsburgh Intercollegiate Athletics Department. 

Assists with student-athlete performance assessment and monitoring. Collaborates to guide students' performance and health and collects and analyzes applicable tracking data. Assists with implementation of new technologies, equipment management, and inventory.

The Assistant Director of Sport Science supports the design, implementation, and evaluation of evidence-based performance programs for Division I student-athletes. This role integrates data from athlete monitoring systems, wearable technology, and performance testing to optimize performance, reduce injury risk, and inform return-to-play decisions. The Assistant Director of Sport Science is essential in continuing the high level of support and care for our Athletic Department and will be vital for the upcoming competitive seasons this fall semester. This position will be involved in daily discussions with coaching staffs to inform decisions to increase competitive success across multiple teams. 

Must be able to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time. May need to lift equipment, mail, or supplies up to 50 pounds.
