Clerical Assistant 2 with the Pennsylvania State Police plays an important role in supporting daily office operations. This position provides clerical support that keeps daily operations moving efficiently within the district office. The work helps ensure accuracy and consistency in reports, records, and essential administrative processes. As a Clerical Assistant 2, you will perform the following duties:
- Report Preparation: Type administrative investigation reports and general correspondence and verify attachments for accuracy and compliance
- Timekeeping Support: Review the Weekly Duty Roster for updates and enter overtime and higher class assignments
- Vehicle Record Management: Check automotive invoices for accuracy, enter data into the M5 system, maintain mileage records, and prepare paperwork for new and turned-in vehicles
- Case and System Access: Assign case and incident numbers and access required systems such as the Liquor Control Board program
- General Office Tasks: File correspondence and complete related clerical duties as needed

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,108 (before taxes).

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Graduation from high school; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
- 3 years of experience using Microsoft Word
- 3 yeas of experience maintaining databases, spreadsheets, and logs.
- 3 years of experience with preparing and formatting various correspondence, forms, and reports.
- 3 years of experience proofreading and editing various types of materials to ensure grammatical correctness and completeness.
- 3 years of experience working in a position that requires maintaining, updating, and purging files.
- 2 years of experience answering and assisting with incoming phone calls.
- 2 years of experience utilizing various office equipment such as a personal computer, copying machine, facsimile machine and postage meter.
- All employees must obtain active Commonwealth Law Enforcement Assistance Network (CLEAN) certification issued by the Pennsylvania State Police within the probationary period and maintain the same for the duration of employment in this job.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
