What we are looking for

We’re searching for a Senior Technician to support the Workplace Team. You will be part of a 5-person team across all Pittsburgh sites. This position involves broad, hands-on support for all Pittsburgh locations, focusing on repairs, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Working as a Workplace Technician at Aurora offers a unique blend of operational variety, professional skill expansion, and exposure to a mission-driven environment.
In this role you will
- Perform Hands on Maintenance Miscellaneous troubleshooting, maintenance and repairs. This will include minor electrical and plumbing installations and repairs, drywall and painting, furniture assembly, appliance setup and a wide variety of building maintenance.
- Support Office Logistics Assist with internal office moves by moving desks, furniture and other equipment. Help transport large and/or heavy furniture and hardware equipment between different buildings using forklifts, dollies etc. Support with internal and external office events, parties and meetings.
- Perform Property Maintenance Handle weather-related property issues, including early morning or late-night shifts for snow removal, salting, plowing and shoveling to ensure site safety. Cleanup and remediation of storm damage, roof leaks and general outdoor maintenance.
- Uphold Safety & Operational Standards Execute routine site inspections and quality assessments to ensure facility excellence. Oversee the documentation of service logs, safety protocols, and custodial outcomes to maintain a secure and high-performing workplace environment.
Required qualifications
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in safely operating hand and power tools.
- Operational Readiness: Willingness and ability to operate heavy machinery (e.g., man lifts, forklifts, snow plows).
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, work in tight spaces, and stand or walk for long periods.
- Problem Solving: Demonstrated ability to innovate solutions, articulate ideas effectively, and maintain a service-oriented mindset.
- Schedule Adaptability: Availability to handle non-standard hours for urgent facility requirements or emergency response situations.
Desirable qualifications
- Comprehensive expertise or certification in technical fields like electrical, plumbing, or climate control systems.
- Ability to safely haul/tow trailers and operate a variety of specialized heavy equipment.
- Prior experience working at a tech company or in Class A office spaces.
The base range for this position is $34.25 - $47.00/hour . Aurora’s pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future. The successful candidate will also be eligible for an annual bonus, equity compensation, and benefits.
