This position supports the transportation needs of the facility by safely operating various vehicles and assisting with daily operational tasks. It ensures residents and materials are moved efficiently while maintaining safety and care. As an Equipment Operator A, you will perform the following duties:
- Transportation Services: Operate cars, vans, buses, and other vehicles to transport residents to appointments, activities, and destinations
- Safety Procedures: Check locking devices on residents and equipment to ensure safe travel before moving vehicles
- Material Delivery: Pick up and deliver mail, supplies, samples, and other materials locally and long distance
- Vehicle Maintenance: Perform basic repairs, inspections, cleaning, and preventive maintenance on vehicles and equipment
- Snow Operations: Operate snow removal and cinder spreading equipment during inclement weather
- Support Tasks: Assist with departmental duties such as loading vehicles, maintaining records, and completing paperwork

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment (37.5 hours per week)
- Work hours are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (1st shift), rotating weekends and holidays, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Six months experience in the operation and maintenance of large vans, buses and single-chassis trucks with a gross vehicle weight of 10,001 pounds or more; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirement:
- You must be in possession of a valid Class C Pennsylvania driver's license.
Condition of Employment:
- You must possess a valid Class B or higher Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with passenger endorsement.
Additional Requirement:
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and drug screening.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
- Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
