Role Description The Executive Director is a full-time, on-site role based in Gettysburg, PA, responsible for the overall leadership, management, and strategic direction of Adams County Arts Council. This role oversees daily operations, including program development, financial management, fundraising, donor relations, and community outreach. The Executive Director leads and supports staff and volunteers, collaborates closely with the Board of Directors, and ensures that programs and initiatives align with the organization’s mission and goals. Day-to-day tasks include managing budgets, supervising program delivery, cultivating partnerships with local organizations and stakeholders, and representing the Arts Council at public events and meetings. The Executive Director also plays a key role in marketing and communications efforts, grant writing, and maintaining compliance with nonprofit governance standards.

Qualifications

Leadership and management skills, including staff supervision, team building, and organizational planning.
Financial management skills such as budgeting, basic accounting oversight, and reporting to a Board of Directors.
Fundraising and development skills, including donor cultivation, grant writing, sponsorship outreach, and event-based fundraising.
Community engagement and partnership-building skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders and community groups.
Strong communication skills, including clear written communication, public speaking, and professional interpersonal skills.
Experience in arts administration, nonprofit management, or a closely related field is highly beneficial.
Background in arts administration, nonprofit management, business, communications, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and access in the arts.
Ability to work on-site in Gettysburg, PA, with occasional evening and weekend hours for events and programs.
