This role supports the upkeep of buildings, grounds, and equipment throughout the installation. The work helps ensure a safe and well-maintained environment for staff and visitors. As a Semi Skilled Laborer, you will perform the following duties:

  • Maintenance Support: Assist trades staff with heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), electrical, plumbing, construction, and repair tasks
  • Grounds Care: Cut grass, trim bushes, remove debris, and complete landscaping activities
  • Equipment Handling: Operate mowers, trimmers, snow removal tools, and other basic equipment
  • Repair Tasks: Perform minor repairs, change filters, clean tools, and support upkeep of work areas
  • Material Movement: Load and unload supplies, move furniture, set up or remove equipment, and transport items
  • Seasonal Work: Remove snow and ice, rake leaves, clean drainage areas, and maintain outdoor spaces

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year of experience in laboring work including the use of tools and equipment used in maintenance or construction; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Conditions of Employment:

  • You must be in possession of a valid PA non-commercial Class C driver’s license or equivalent.

Additional Requirements:

  • You must be in possession of a valid federal or state-issued photo ID and pass a favorable NCIC screening for admittance to Fort Indiantown Gap.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
