Job Summary
STAFFXPERT LLC is seeking a Sr. Jira Engineer on behalf of our client in Pittsburgh, PA / Lake Mary, FL / NY-NJ.
We are looking for an experienced Jira professional to lead the configuration, administration, customization, and optimization of enterprise Jira environments. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Jira administration, workflow automation, plugin development, system integrations, and Agile delivery practices. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with business and technology teams to enhance project management processes, improve operational efficiency, and support large-scale enterprise initiatives.
Key Responsibilities

Configure, manage, and customize Jira projects, workflows, screens, permissions, schemes, and issue types.

Administer and support Jira Software, Jira Service Management, and Service Desk environments.

Develop and maintain custom scripts, automations, and plugins using ScriptRunner, Groovy, and Java.

Design, implement, and maintain integrations between Jira and enterprise applications, including CI/CD platforms.

Configure and manage Advanced Roadmaps and Elements Connect solutions.

Create and optimize JQL queries, dashboards, reports, and automation rules to support business needs.

Troubleshoot system issues, perform root cause analysis, and optimize Jira platform performance.

Manage user access, security configurations, and governance policies.

Collaborate with Agile teams to streamline workflows and improve project visibility and reporting.

Provide technical guidance, end-user support, documentation, and best practices for Jira adoption.

Participate in platform enhancements, upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications

8+ years of experience in Jira administration and engineering.

Strong experience with Jira Software and Jira Service Management.

Hands-on expertise with Jira configuration, customization, and workflow design.

Experience with ScriptRunner and Groovy development.

Strong Java development skills.

Experience with Jira Service Desk installation and configuration.

Knowledge of Jira Advanced Roadmaps and Elements Connect.

Experience implementing Jira integrations and CI/CD connectivity.

Strong command of JQL (Jira Query Language).

Experience working in Unix/Linux environments.

Solid understanding of Agile methodologies and software development practices.

Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
