The Corporate Finance group is seeking an enthusiastic problem solver to support an increasingly dynamic Fortune 500 company. We are seeking a Manager of Financial Accounting who is looking to further develop his or her career in a growing global company. The position is designed for an individual who can independently own complex analyses, drive conclusions, identify process inefficiencies, and communicate recommendations with minimal oversight. Primary responsibilities include technical accounting and financial analysis, particularly for special transactions (acquisitions, divestitures, integration, transformation, and process improvements), as well as researching and documenting technical accounting matters and supporting month-end close review and analysis. This role serves as a key thought partner to the Head of Accounting of our Passenger Transit business segment and includes other opportunities to collaborate with various members of the Corporate Finance team and support the broader organization. This role will also have significant interaction with both the Corporate Controller and Chief Accounting Officer. Collaboration with domestic and international business unit and functional leaders offers extensive learning opportunities and exposure across our many global businesses that can serve as a foundation for future career opportunities. The position offers opportunities to utilize the candidate’s experience in driving operational process and control improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy of financial information. Success in this role requires the ability to operate with autonomy in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

What will your typical day look like?

  • Assist in researching relevant GAAP and providing technical accounting guidance to business leaders across the organization, particularly related to revenue recognition, inventory costs, fixed assets, restructuring, and research and development costs
  • Produce well-structured, audit-ready technical accounting memos and communication materials for review by senior management and external auditors
  • Translate complex accounting issues into clear business implications
  • Collaborate with various functions across the organization to identify and implement process improvements and to drive consistent application of policies
  • Deliver concise and actionable financial analyses to support reviews of business unit and segment results
  • Support corporate development, business unit and functional leaders in acquisitions, divestitures, and other special transactions
  • Lead periodic reviews of critical accounting estimates and certain account reconciliations
  • Represent the Controllership function for the annual standard cost review update and approvals
  • Assist with monthly and quarterly financial close processes
  • Develop and maintain business-specific policies and procedures to drive appropriate/consistent internal controls, accounting, and financial reporting of transactions across the company
  • Maintain compliance with Sarbanes Oxley requirements, ensuring procedures and internal controls are in place and effective through coordination between business unit personnel and Controllership
  • Support and coordinate external auditor requests
  • Other duties and special projects as required

What do we want to know about you?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA or equivalent professional certification
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience with public multinational manufacturing organizations and/or public accounting firms
    • Working knowledge of US GAAP, particularly revenue recognition
    • Oracle and OneStream experience a plus

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The salary rate for this role is currently $91100-129800 The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location.
