As a Game Commission Dispatcher Supervisor with the Pennsylvania Game Commission, you will help lead a dedicated team that protects wildlife and supports public safety. This role offers the chance to guide dispatch operations from our 24 hour Centralized Dispatch Center in our Harrisburg. This position oversees and guides the daily work of dispatchers who support emergency and non-emergency wildlife service operations across the Commonwealth. The role includes managing communication systems, supervising dispatcher activities, and ensuring accurate information flow. As a Game Commission Dispatcher Supervisor, you will perform the following duties:

  • Supervisory Leadership: Provide direction, coaching, and daily oversight to dispatch staff to maintain effective operations
  • Operational Monitoring: Review communication activities and ensure calls and messages are managed according to agency standards
  • Communication Coordination: Relay information between officers, staff, and partner agencies to support accurate and timely responses
  • Incident Reporting: Notify appropriate managers when significant events occur
  • Information Processing: Handle record keeping, typing, filing, and related support activities
  • System Management: Use dispatch and communication systems to record events, track activities, and support field operations

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 4/10 hour days, with no lunch break
  • You will be considered an essential employee which requires reporting into the office location in time of an emergency.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years as a Pennsylvania Game Commission Dispatcher (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Four years of dispatching experience involving police, fire, and/or ambulance personnel and services; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirements:

  • All employees must possess a clear, firm voice and no major speech, hearing, or visual impairments that would interfere with understanding verbal communication, being understood, or using electronic communications equipment and visual display equipment.
  • All employees must possess and maintain CLEAN and JNET certifications for the duration of employment in this job.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
